USA. Luhrs names Edgewater Yacht Sales as new dealer for its ...

Luhrs Corporation has announced that Edgewater Yacht Sales, LLC, of Pensacola, FL, will become a new retailer of its offshore fishing yachts for the Florida Panhandle and Coastal Alabama markets. Edgewater Yacht Sales is ideally located between Pensacola, FL, and Orange Beach, AL, on Perdido Key at the Oyster Bar Restaurant & Marina. Edgewater offers a 250-seat restaurant, 50-slip marina, in-water new yacht sales, brokerage and a marine service department. Edgewater Yacht Sales has a great location thats close to some fantastic fishing areas, said Don Smith, dealer development manager for Luhrs Corporation. Its employees are all serious fishermen so we expect to have a lot of success in the market. Since Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the marina facilities are new -- including decks, pilings, power and fuel -- and the restaurant has been remodeled.

Teams from five Texas universities are among a field of more than 24 universities and colleges that will compete Oct. 19-21 in the first National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship at Lewisville Lake.

The tournament is being presented by Fox College Sports with 19 hours of prime time television coverage planned for the event. Headquarters is Sneaky Petes Marina, and weigh-ins are scheduled to be held there at 3 p.m. each day.

Texas schools who have entered include Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Stephen F. Austin State. The full field will fish during the first two days of competition with the top five teams with the highest cumulative weight advancing to the finals.

The five schools participating in the finals will be competing for $25,000 in prize money.
